Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as colonics and colonic irrigation is an extended and more enhanced form of an enema. The objective of colon hydrotherapy is to balance and cleanse the colon and involves the infusion of water in to the colon using a medically approved class II colon hydrotherapy device with a sanitary, disposable speculum in to the rectum. This therapy improves the muscle tone of the colon and enhances the peristaltic action and increases the absorption of nutrients from the cecum and ascending colon while minimizing the absorption of toxic waste material.
Our clients enjoy soothing music to aid in their relaxation. With our clients permission we will gently manipulate their abdomen to aid in their elimination. They find our environment very relaxing and peaceful.
This practice was first recorded in 1500 B.C. in the ancient Egyptian document, Ebers Papyrus and was used to treat constipation. It was believed that constipation was the root of many diseases and illnesses. These enemas were described as the infusion of water in to the large intestine through the anus. In 1600 A.D. Pare gave the first distinction between colon hydrotherapy and the enema therapy of that time.
